Mayo Clinic (Rochester) Housing

Hello SDN:

During December I will be doing a rotation at Mayo (Rochester, MN) and I am looking for places to stay. Some people have reccomended the Kahler Grand Hotel for 25$ per night (student rate) but I would like to know if there are other options for housing around the area.

I also highly recommend the Kahler. It is pretty cheap (I am comparing this to NYC area housing, but about $800 total is not a lot). I'm sure you can find some cheaper housing if you worked hard at it, but the Kahler is connected to the Mayo buildings with the subway tunnels.......it was so amazing to only have a 3 minute commute! (And also amazing to not ever care what the weather was like).

Of course, your rotation may take you more to St. Mary's Hospital, in which case you would need to take the shuttle from Mayo, but still easy enough.
