Hi all,

Does anyone know anything about the Mayo Program in Jacksonville, FL?-- Is it a good program, and what range of step 1 scores should one have to match there?

Greetings,
We are a newer program at Mayo Jax and just this year have our first full complement of residents, 4 per class. We have had growing pains like any place but overall the experience is excellent. The reviews on scutwork.com are relatively accurate.

As far as boards go, I think anybody with a step I > 220 would get interviewed. I will say, however, that just boards alone aren't enough for most disciplines. There is a sometimes broad chasm between book knowledge and clinical sense. Best to have both, I suppose, but...my advice would be to do as well as you can on the boards and feel competitive at most programs with a step I > 220.

Good luck,
PMMD
