I think Mayo Jax has a better reputation nationwide, though i think there are only 4 residents there a year.
Miami is pretty good, the location is fun and I think private practice jobs in the area is highly desirable and competitive. Though I wouldnt know if UMiami graduates have first pick for those jobs. Miami vascular is one of the best IR programs and for some reason they dont take a lot of Miami graduates
Interviewed at both. Residents at Miami seemed to work much harder, which can be both a pro/con. Didn't have the best interview with the PD, he seemed to be a little off or maybe he just felt like I wasn't seriously considering the program.
Really liked Mayo jax. Felt it was a great combination of academic resources with the Rochester campus connection in a laid back environment.
Will honestly end up ranking Miami higher due to location and the fact that Mayo has 4 residents. Not excited about moving to a town where I know no one with only 3 co residents in my class.
