I was wondering if anyone has heard from mayo since the phone interview?? I was told a week and it has been over a week already! 😡 Thanks!

Would you mind telling when you got the phone interview? Also, how did they inform you of it? Thanks!

I received an e-mail two or three weeks ago and phone interviewed about a week or two ago.

For those of you with phone interviews, did you read the thread about the criteria for getting them such as a formula for gpa and mcat? I met the deadline for the numbers, have clinical ER experience, but only minor work outside of medicine (put one summer of construction on amcas.) What did you have with regards to work or international work?

What Mayo values highly in their students is showing a commitment to service, whether international or otherwise. Those guidelines in the other post are not strictly adhered to by any means.

I just wanted to add - for anyone who does get the on-site interview, this was the most greuling day by far. I think it lasted over 10 hours, with long walking tours, quite a bit of down time, etc. By the end of the day, I actually felt drunk from fatigue and adrenaline letdown.

FYI. 😉

I've heard how difficult traveling in/out of Rochester can be and then I read about a ten hour interview day.

I can't take too much time off work. . . . so my question is: Does Mayo interview on Saturdays or only during the week?

i think they interview M-F, but the admissions office seems to be very acomodating to the individual students when you are actually scheduling the interview. you can try and ask

i agree about teh long commute to Rochester. I asked this earlier this week and got some helpful replies....you can probably find my post a few pages back. basically the consensus for price was to gly into minneapolis then rent or take a shuttle bus to rochester. I think the drive is about 2 hours. good luck! it seems like it's going to be a full but pretty exciting day!!

Unfortunately, they don't offer interviews on Saturday. Rochester Express or Rochester Direct shuttle from the Minneapolis/St. Paul airport is usually the best way to get to Rochester unless you can find a cheap ticket to the Rochester airport.
