Does anyone know if Mayo is still sending out interview invites. For those who have been there, how long after your file was complete did it take to hear about the phone interview and the invite to Minn. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think it was about 6 weeks from sending them my check to the phone interview invite. The on-site interview came within 2 weeks after the phone interview. I interviewed on site before Thanksgiving, and I think I was interviewee number 70 or so. They told us they were going to interview about 250 people. I was just down at the Mayo Clinic last Friday to meet with a Dr. who is collaborating on a researach project with us, and I saw the interviewees on the famous tour, so they are still interviewing. However, I have no idea how long they continue to offer phone interviews.

Hey,

I know people complete at Mayo end of Oct, notified of interview late Dec, and then given a in-person interiew invite within 1 week and 1 day from the telephone interview... So there's still some time....

Good luck,
R. Langdon

I do not know if Mayo is still sending phone interview invites. I submitted my check at the beginning of November, was invited for a phone interview about 7 weeks later at the end of December, and received an interview at Mayo almost exactly 2 weeks later. They did tell me before the phone interview that they were running slightly behind because of the number of applications they had received. Good Luck!

The last phone interviews will be given out the first week in February. The last on-site interviews will be in March.

Anyone stay at the Colonial Inn or Travelers Hotel that Mayo recommended? Any suggestions on either?

I stayed at the Colonial Inn. It's not luxurious, but it was everything I needed. I felt very comfortable there. The staff was quite friendly. You're also right next to the school and the rate is pretty cheap.

My plane came into Minneapolis/St. Paul and I took a shuttle to and from Rochester. I think the company was Rochester Shuttle. Very convenient.

Good luck!

I also stayed at the Colonial Inn. My only real complaint was that the room was too hot (at least 85F!), and the only way to control the heat was to turn off the radiator (which made it quite brisk in the morning). The outside temp was in the single digits when I was there, so where ever the thermostat was, it was not as well insulated as my room. However, for only $40, I guess you can't really complain. I have also stayed at the Kahler in the past, and I wasn't impressed by the rooms there either, and I paid more to stay there!

Thanks everyone for the replies, much appreciated.
