Not all acceptances have been handed out yet...I called today and they said I'm still in the running out of 933 applicants...of which they already rejected at least 600. My application's with the Biochem & Molecular Bio dept which picks/is picking the most students. w00t!
I love Mayo and all but the $5k stipend doesn't include housing or airfare. Don't get me wrong, $5k is a lottttt but I'd rather them pay me less but give me housing & travel. It's just a hassle if I'm not familiar with the area, even if it does say on the website that they'll help us find housing with other students. Better than the NIH. They won't help with anything. 🙁 I'm considering rejecting their offer there for that reason.
