For anyone who has taken cell biology and used the Alberts textbook, have any of you bought The Problems Book? If so, is it worth it to buy? Cheapest I can find on Amazon is $20-$30. Anyone think it would be helpful? Considering how useless my instructor is so far...

Thanks! Sorry if there's been another post like this.

Your instructor makes the tests, so it's in your best interest to study his notes.

If you're talking about the MCAT, the review books are more than sufficient.

the MBoC problems book is very very detailed with quite challenging questions for most chapters.

They run through a lot of experiments, and they ask questions having to do with procedure, core concepts, results, and other things.

For the mcat, its not necessary at all. For your class, it depends on how deep your professor goes. I think I would have gotten better use out of it if i had been in a grad level cell bio course.

NO, it's not worth it.

I bought this along with Alberts for my Cell Biology class, and didn't use it even once. The textbook and class notes should be more than enough, or at least they were for me.

Okay thanks for all the responses. I will probably not buy it then. It's more for class than for MCAT.
