I am very curious what part personality plays in the successful choice (ie: one that you will be happy with, fulfilled by, and not regret) of a specialty by medical students. I would love it if people could answer with what Meyers Briggs Personality Type (MBTI) they are, and what specialty they are most considering, or have already chosen.

Below are some articles related to this:

And here is a link to an online test, if you don't know your MBTI type:

Thanks for the links. I've read stuff on Myers-Briggs before, but this is the first time I've seen it applied to medicine specifically.. quite interesting.

Anyway, I'm INTJ and premed, so have had limited exposure to the different specialties.. but I'm considering neurology or radiology, or some internal med subspecialty as I enjoy the academic environment. I can't see myself doing pediatrics ever :p

INFJ

Considering IM or a subspecialty therein

Thanks for those links!

ENTJ

I am considering mostly surgical sub-specialities.

Really good info here.

ISFP (S 51%, N 49%)

I'm leaning towards general peds or peds subspecialty, especially oncology...
