I'm currently a Sophomore at the University of Illinois. I am an animal science major, minoring in chemistry (and possibly MCB), with a 3.84c GPA, and a recent PreVet to PreMed switch.
I was curious if it would be beneficial for me to take both the 2014 MCAT and the 2015 MCAT? My plan would be to begin content review this summer, then I'm taking Biochemistry (all other chemistry is done except Orgo 2) and my first Physics next semester (fall of my Junior year), study concurrently with school, take the "old" MCAT in mid/late-January and try to score somewhere around a 30/32. If I didn't reach this goal, I would then continue studying and take the "new" MCAT sometime in late-April or early-May. Is trying to take the old one worth it? If so, what would be a "good enough" score to not attempt the new one as well? Any and all advice (even if it is not directly responding to my questions) is welcome.
