Hello Everyone!
I have a 3.7 GPA (Ivy) and a 3.8 Science GPA. Graduated 2011
Standardized tests are not my thing (1900 SATs) and a P-10 V-10 B-10 for a total of 30R on the MCAT (up from 26O on my first attempt)
I graduated Cum Laude as a Psych Major, Neuroscience Minor
I shadowed several physicians over the course of my schooling for a total of about 200 hours.
I was captain of the Rugby team and started an a capella group that is still operating on campus.
I spent one summer interning at a major metropolitan hospital's ER ( 400 hours of direct clinical experience)
I am currently working in amputee care (combat veterans) and have 3 publications.
My letters of rec should be very very good and I am excellent in an interview setting.
NJ Resident
My plan is apply in 2012,
Here's the growing list of schools I am considering:
UMDNJ -NJMS, UMDNJ-RWJ Georgetown, George Washington, NYMC, Albany, Jefferson, Drexel, Temple, Penn State, UVM, Rosalind-Franklin Medical School, Mizzou, Virginia Tech, UMD, UNC
How am I looking? Should I add or subtract from this list?
I worry about trying to take the exam again as I get uber stressed out in the MCAT testing environment...and the application for June is already open.
I'm hoping that my clinical experience and unique research position (w/ publications) will offer me a bump for middle tier schools.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you so much!
