Hey guys,
I just spoke with an academic advisor at Texas Tech School of Medicine in Lubbock Texas..and he said that next year the MCAT is going to be offered 4 times. He said he was told this by the Kaplan Director who heard it from AAMC. Anyone else know anything about it? Have you heard anythign like this form any other academic advisors??

Haven't heard that....but it'll be nice if I blow it next month 🙂

What I heard and have recieved via email is this:

AAMC will still be offering MCAT paper&pencil format 2/yr

However, AAMC is also goin to start offering CAT (computer) MCAT 7/yr. Which isn't to start until 2007.

How many times you can actually take the test within a year, i dont know.

The paper and pencil will not be offered after August 2006. Then the CBT will be offered up to 20 times/year.
😱

I recently read (can't remember where specifically, but it was a legitimate source) that the MCAT is undergoing revamping again, for 2007. The goal is to make it shorter, rely less on regurgitation of undergrads facts, and more accurately test critical thinking ability.

Can't wait to see how they accomplish that goal.

MORE critical thinking? 😱 It's already the only test that makes me want to cry every time I think about it.

I wouldn't mind it being shorter tho.... I don't even want to do things I LIKE for 9 straight hrs. 🙂
