I just got my MCAT score back and I have already sent in my application MD for in state. I have excellent credentials outside of class-over 2 years scribing experience, six months research 150+ volunteering, and multiple leadership roles. I am meeting with the dean of admissions soon, but I wanted to know what you all think my chances are for getting an interview? I'm not a standardized test taker unfortunately so I also don't know if I should take the test again
I will also be applying DO in several weeks.

With a 498, I'm afraid your chances are not very good. What was your undergrad GPA? And what state are you from?

You may want to retake -- but honestly you miss 100% of the shots you do not take. You never know, have heard stories of people with same MCAT get into PCOM and they did not have any MS or PhD

The mean MCAT for successful applicants from your state is 509.4, the mean undergrad gpa is 3.76 (SD 0.25).

Masters degree grades have relatively little effect on an MD school's assessment of academic prowess. DO schools see things differently.

For MD, but I think he was asking about DO chances. And DO stats are much lower then that -- 502.17 nationally for matriculants

The first line referred to MD in-state. I was responding to that statement.
Her last line also made it seem that she was asking about MD odds.
Admittedly, DO odds are much better.

These are DO schools where you have a chance for an interview with your stats. Many of these schools have MCAT medians in the 498 to 502 range.
ACOM
ARCOM
BCOM
WCU-COM
LMU-DCOM
UP-KYCOM
WVSOM
LUCOM
VCOM (all 3 schools)
UIWSOM
NYIT-Arkansas
RVU-Utah
Idaho (new school)
You should submit your application this month and all your secondaries by July.

I am in a similar situation. I have a 499 from two years ago, and I am scheduled to retake this friday although I am terrified since my AMMC fl#1 was a 495 and AAMC FL#2 was a 498. My kaplan scores range between a 497-501 with the average being a 499. My undergrad gpa is also around a 3.1 and my master's gpa is a 3.69 just like the op's. I am seriously considering voiding my exam on Friday and giving it a shot with my 499. I am just concerned that I will score lower this time. Any thoughts?

You really need your own thread. This one is for OP.
That said, do not take a high stakes re-take unless you are confident of a score consistent with success. Interpreting Kaplan scores is...open to interpretation.

Atleast the Caribbean has beautiful weather......or retake the MCAT
