Hey I wanted to know what my chances were of getting into medical school. Legal green card citizen or what ever its called. I lived here for 13 years. cGPA 3.4, sGPA 3.3, MCAT of 520. I originally applied after my senior year with an MCAT score of 502 and got denied (what was I thinking), anyways, its been 3 years, I have 900 clinical hours and over 100 hours of shadowing. I have over 1000<x hours of research and I will start my clinical volunteering next week or so and get my volunteering hours done as well before the cycle. I am not sure what race I am (not even sure if that plays a role) but I am from Uzbekistan (if you have any idea what that my race is please let me know). College athlete, president of some clubs.. etc etc. I currently work at Yale Medical school for research, but my residency status is in Ga. I do not care about the rank of the school, I am more interested in applying places where I will see snow and such because it keeps my stress levels low. I was interested in Vermont but I do not know my chances. I went to top 20 undergrad school in US but... again idk if that matters. I had a friend who had a 4.0 and 518 and he only got accepted to 5/24 school so I guess I want to know whether I have a chance or not or if I should just go for DO.
I forgot to mention that I also won an award for my poster at Yale this year. Not sure if this makes much of a difference. (I am not trying to be humble, I am more skeptical since research doesn't seem to be that important for MD.)

Apply in June and submit all your secondaries by July.

Did you have an upward trend gpa or a science professor who can advocate really strongly on your behalf about you being a good student?

If not and it were me, i would consider doing some type of gpa repair, possibly doing a few upper division bio courses as one-offs and getting As, or a diy postbacc with upper division bio courses before applying.

But the rest of your app seems really compelling and interesting and I can see people being interested in your app! Good luck!!

PS I believe people from Uzbekistan and Central Asia are allowed to choose to claim either white or Asian

Yea you have a chance at MDs Id apply to as many as you can and as early as you can. I'm sure some schools might screen you out. Its hard to say what the odds are with a 3.4 but with the 520 and continuous dedication I'm sure you'll get some looks. Make sure you sell your story to tell in your ps/secondaries. Apply to a few DO's as well. As for your race/diversity its self-reported/identified so whatever you think of yourself as either mixed/caucasian/white/w/e. The Sgpa is kinda low but idk how much a few classes would really change that, although it would show you can handle the coursework well, which some admission commitee members might be worried about (Im not an expert on that though, so i will defer to others on whether or not bonus classes would really help much).

Throw your app to Creighton and Western Michigan. These schools seem to be more open to non-trads with a story. Wmed seems to forgive lower GPA for a great MCAT score (which you definitely have).
