hi all,

I plan to take the MCAT in april and I'm enrolled in a Kaplan Course. Does anybody have any suggestions and/or advice about the course? is it better to focus on reviewing the material more or practice testing more? are their any things that Kaplan doesn't enfore or emphasize that I should be focusing on? also, are their any things that Kaplan does overemphasize that i don't need to be spending as much time on? ANY other MCAT studying advice would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks so much.

Best advice I can give anyone is to take a crapload of practice tests. The month before the MCAT I took a couple every week, section by section, and tried to force myself through in 2/3-3/4 time to see what I really knew. If you can answer a question right after only a few seconds (assuming no calculating required), then you know you have it down. If you can't get it within a minute, re-read that section of your review book. Plus all that extra speed will serve you well on the real one. I was faced with a PS section that was pure hell. Anyone else I knew who had the same version didn't finish, but b/c I had practiced speed I was able to finish with 5 minutes left to go over things.

I'm going on one little rant. You should know by this point how you learn. Study for it how you would any other test. It is much more information than others, but that's it. I agree take as many practice tests as you need to feel comfortable with the length and know how fast you have to go in order to finish. However, don't become obsessed with someone else's strategies, tricks etc.
