So EMT summer intesive course is 8-3pm Mon-Friday. I am also trying to study for an august MCAT exam, on my own time and with a weekend class. In the 2-3 ish months of summer, is this a plausible schedule?? I want to finish training so I can actually do some EMT stuff before applying to med school. Otherwise, I'd train in the fall, be ready to do EMT stuff over winter, but then only have 2-3 months of experience before applying to med school.

Should I take this EMT training over the summer along side MCAT studying right before the exam or should I just take it during the fall and apply with more training experience than real emt experience??

Not really the right forum. But, I would suggest studying for the MCAT and doing something else for EC's. Don't do the EMT route unless you really want to be in EMS. 2-3 months experience as an EMT isn't all that much. My suggestion is to shadow an ER doc or something similar if you want exposure to trauma etc.

I'm doing the same thing! I think it is plausible to study while taking the course but you really have to commit. Study when you are at home and try to finish a set number of chapters a day. You can do it! Plus, in my opinion, I think it is better to apply with more EMT experience. That's my plan.
