I saw that the format for the MCAT is changing next year (computer based) and they are offering a lot of testing dates.
The first date in 2007 is at the end of January. Would it be possible to take that first MCAT and still apply for 2007? I know this is not ideal, I am just wondering? Thanks!

I just wanted to say that along with offering more dates, the scores are also available much sooner.

As long as you get your primary out before hand so it is processed and ready before the deadline and then you subsequently get your secondary out before their deadlines late in the spring you can do this. However, with rolling admissions you are putting yourself at a tremendous disadvantage because you will be competing with the entire applicant pool at that point rather than just a portion.

You can fill out your application prior to taking the MCAT. Apply as early as possible.

Thanks for the reply. I know that it is a major disadvantage to do this but I was just wondering if it was possible. I seem remember a podiatry school that said you needed to take the MCAT the August before attending. I didn't know if this has changed with the new MCAT computer based testing and offering more dates. Thanks again.

The reason it was impossible before is because the deadlines passed, you should of course call the AACOMAS about it before you take anyone's word here as gospel, including mine.
