MCAT average for DO/PhD

I want to give you an answer, since I don't think you are going to receive one.
Basically, I don't know of any students on here who applied to a DO/PhD program and there has never been (to my knowledge) a post here by a DO/PhD student. So the answer to your question is: I don't know the average GPA/MCAT for DO/PhD programs.
I'd imagine they are similar to, if not slightly higher than, the stats for regular DO programs. The reason for this likely lies in the issue that DO schools are not affiliated with top research programs and no DO/PhD program is fully-funded (tuition remission + stipend for all years). I believe these things would significantly diminish the stats required for entry compared to fully-funded positions at other schools, but this is pure speculation on my part.
Perhaps calling some DO/PhD programs and asking them would yield a suitable answer. If you get one, please let us know in this thread and cite the source.

I believe applying to a MSTP program (DO/PhD) gives you a better shot at admission than applying to the DO program alone. In contrast, being admitted to the MD/PhD program is significant more difficult than the MD program alone. This is what I heard when I applied: DO schools, especially the ones with graduate schools established within a university system, are seeking to produce research-minded DOs so they really welcome dual-degree students. The source of this information was probably credible, but I don't know if this is totally hearsay or completely true however.
When I was an undergrad, I applied to both MD/PhD and DO/PhD programs. You already know what I ended up doing. For reference, my MCAT was 34 (V-10, P-12, B-12) and GPA 3.6 cum.
