Well for those of us who follow hockey, you all know the significance of the "playoff beard". For those of you who don't know about it, players in the NHL don't shave anymore once their team makes it into the playoffs, and won't shave again until their team is knocked out. This is mostly done for luck. I've been thinking about doing this too for the MCAT just for fun/luck haha. Seeing how i've been studying relentlessly (I'm scheduled to take the MCAT May 11th), I feel like I should have thought of this when I first started studying over 6 weeks ago. So are there any takes on the "MCAT bead"? Whose with me?!

Haha yessss. Shaving tomorrow and letting it go till after my exam on the 27th
 
Haha I did this for my mcat, back in January.
 
I would advise against this, the picture on your identification might not match the monster that arrives for the test day.

Bro, just have someone beard slap you and you can get that 6 weeks of growth back stat.

I definitely am doing this, I should probably be worried tho that might picture won't match at the testing center lol
 
June 20th seems so long away...but I'm tempted!
 
I think being totally hardcore about this would be to not shave or get a haircut until accepted into med school. I would love to see the interviewers face if I showed up like Tom Hanks from Cast Away wearing a suit.

I had an MCAT beard! When I went to the prometric center, I did not know they were going to take a picture of me with my fabulous beard. Just hope AdCom didn't see that picture!

Do it, man! I love the idea, and if I didn't have a massive beard already I'd grow one with you!
 
My playoff beard has been cancelled due to the fact that I follow the Sabres...
I'm normally bearded, but the MCAT is May 30th for me and I'd consider it a great substitution for the impending stoppage of hockey in Buffalo. Let's grow.

Bahahahha TopTomato, unreal idea!

Taking the June 20 MCAT, and though my soon-to-be MCAT beard may inject fear into hearts of female adolescents and elders alike, I'm totally with you on this one. Hockey players have each other's beards for support, and though the MCAT is not a team sport, I dare say we need the camaraderie in times of desperation more than they do. They've got money and fame, we've got flashcards and formulas.

Let's go MCAT beard. Let's go Rangers!
