How strict are medical schools for the oldest MCAT they will accept? I took mine on August 19, 2011 thinking that it would work this cycle. While a decent amount are only accepting those after jan 2012, theres some that accept those after sept. 1 2011. Is there a chance adcoms would give leeway to my MCAT date?

Depends on the school and is listed for each school on the MSAR.

I've looked at the MSAR so I know what the oldest MCAT the schools accept is. Im just wondering If anyone knew if adcoms were lenient with MCAT dates just slightly older than the official oldest date posted on MSAR.

Most accept within 3 years, but clarify with each school individually.

You should check with each school individually. Good luck.

Just to clarify. Is that three years prior to applying or three years prior to matriculation?

If you were to apply in this application cycle, your 2012 MCAT will be accepted.

Edit: You actually answered your question in your first post. I doubt if the schools state that they won't accept MCAT taken before 2012, they will accept your 2011 MCAT, but you can inquire from each individual school.

Unfortunately, I think the point of cutoffs is that they are cutoffs.
