I've taken the MCAT twice, in 7/2011 and 4/2012. I'm currently applying this cycle, but in the event that I do not get in anywhere, will I have to retake the MCAT to be able to apply next year? I know most schools want an MCAT within the last 3 years, and my latest MCAT will be good until 4/2015 in that case (which is technically still during the 2014-2015 cycle). Am I good for next cycle or should I plan on a retake? Thanks!

I thought the cycle began in May/June not april

Next upcoming cycle is the 2015 cycle so if you don't get in this year, you'll be applying June 2014. My guess is that since your MCAT is valid until April 2015, which is the spring after next, you should be fine. If you don't get in this upcoming cycle for matriculating Fall 2015, then you'll have to retake I think since apps would open June 2015 but your MCAT expired April 2015.
Do not take my word on this though.

This varies a lot by school. Some schools say that it is 3 calendar years from when you apply while others say 3 calendar years from when you'll matriculate. It really varies by school. My guess is that you'll still be OK for atleast half the DO schools, but it will be expired for some. Ask the specific programs to be sure.
