Hi everyone:
I just got my MCAT results...22T 👎 . Yes, the T is quite good, but of course I excel in the part that doesn't really matter. In any case, my GPA, overall, is 3.82, my science GPA is 3.81 and the non-science is 3.84. I have lots of research, shadowing experience, and teaching experience, as well as library jobs, lab jobs, etc, to pay for college on my own. Plus my LORs are stellar. I am actually doing chemical research at UNECOM via a fellowship this summer to get my foot in the door up here...
My question...
How damning is the MCAT score? After smashing my head for about 30 minutes, I realized that it wasn't going to change anything so I would like some advise to ease the throbbing...I took it in August 04 and scored basically the same thing...I just don't take THIS exam well...SAT = 1450, but MCAT= sux...any suggestions are welcome. I am thinking taking it again is futile as I just don't seem to test well on this monster.
Also, do you think the T on writing can perhaps convince the ADCOMs that while I didn't do very well on the VR section, I can write damn well (it is in the top 0.2 percentile, or only 55/27586 got it...sorry, I have to be proud of something with that 22!).
Thanks for your time, and post any thoughts/ideas...
Ryan.
