Hello all!

So I am taking the MCAT August 1st (yikes!). I took the Kaplan summer intensive prep course. I wish I had more time to study, but I decided to take the pre-med route only at the end of my junior year, so my senior year was pretty intense in regards to classes and completing my honors thesis. All that being said, I've been preparing for the MCAT for a little over 2 months.

So far I have taken 5 practice tests, alternating between Kaplan and AAMC. So far, I have received (respectively), 20, 23, 25, 26, 25. I am aiming for at LEAST a 28, which I know is just average, but my GPA is 3.9 and my additional activities (volunteer work, honors, etc) are all very strong. I am also applying to an in-state school.

ANYWAYS, I know it is recommended to only take 2-3 practice tests per week, but I am wondering if any of you took one maybe every other day or every two days instead (while still taking a lot of time to go over the answers and analyze them). In the Kaplan course we are warned against doing that because of burnout, but I want to be scoring within my desired range before taking the real thing .

On average, how many practice tests do you think is too much/detrimental?

When my sis took it she was taking practice test every other day for the month before her exam... she didn't feel as though she burnt out cause the review days in between are pretty light

so i would say just do the every other day thing up until your test and then take the day before your test off and spend time with family or people that you really like so its a nice break before test day
