I am signing up for the August MCAT and I wanted to know how many hours per day would be advisable to study for this test......im taking a prep course over the summer but what exactly does it take to kick ass in that test?

It all depends. If you just had your science prereqs then i would say ~4 hrs/day for ~2 months, on top of the prep course and full-length exams should be sufficient to do well in science. Verbal prep depends on your skills; it turned out that I had to spend as much time alone on verbal prep as I had to for all my sciences combined. The prep course should direct you also on how much to study and so forth..

~1.5 hrs/day for 3 months worked fine for me. Brought my science scores up by 3pts ea.
