Can anyone help explain why answer (A) is wrong in today's MCAT QOTD from m-prep?

http://www.mcatquestion.com/

(spoiler) They say in the answer explanation that catalysts do not affect the equilibrium position, and then say that is proof that II is correct, while I thought using the same exact reason that (II) was incorrect, so I chose answer A: (I) only.

I would pick a too. If they really wanted to use that explanation they shud give the answer a better wording to avoid confusion.

I just answered A, and it said that it was correct. It must have been a mistake that they corrected.

Catalysts do NOT affect the position of equilibrium, both the forward and reverse reactions are increased in rate.

I picked A (I only) and was incorrect. Picked B (I & II only) said I was correct. Statistics showed that the vast majority of people picked A as well.

I only use this app/site for fun really. It's potentially more damaging to think one of their incorrect answers is correct and have that knowledge influence you on the MCAT.

I was just about to ask the same thing... they have fixed the answer now... they probably realized their error

I have that app on my phone. I answered that question today and the answer was A so you're right!
