Dumb MCAT question but what is the difference between the RAAS system and Tubuloglomerular feedback? Are they the same thing?

Hi @lizziebennettdiaries -

In a nutshell, the RAAS system operates on the level of the whole body (it involves hormonal signaling and takes information into account regarding fluid levels/balance throughout the body), while tubuloglomerular feedback operates within the nephron to ensure that it functions properly. For the MCAT, you definitely need to understand how the RAAS system works, whereas I'd say the absolute most you need to know about tubuloglomerular feedback is that it exists.

Hope this helps & best of luck!!
