I know this is not the place to start this thread, but honestly I always get the best response in the Osteopathic forum.

I am preparing to study for the MCAT. I want to take it in may 2013. People who have already taken the mcat, what is the best study guide? If I have 1 general bio, chem, orgo, and phyics, will I be prepared?

Thanks for any advise

you don't need to go crazy buying tons of stuff. I used the big blue Kaplan book and a couple of examkrackers. That's it. Nothing crazy.

I would say go to a book store and look through the various offerings. Whatever one makes sense to you, go with and master it. Simple as that.

Some people like Kaplan, others Princeton Review, others Exam Krackers...different strokes for different folks

I used the Princeton Review books, Exam Krackers Audio Osmosis (just for driving around or when jogging), and took most of the aamc practice exams. Definitely recommend taking a lot of practice exams just as if you were taking the actual test.

I second audio osmosis. It's perfect for the car and walks. And definitely check the different options out and stick to one for each subject. I forgot the specific books I used, but examkrakers and Kaplan were my favorites.

Oh, 101 passages by examkrakers is a must for the verbal section.

Just remember with the audio osmosis that there are some errors. The corrections are available somewhere (maybe on these forums somewhere).

My suggestion would be to invest in the aamc practice test also. They are pricey but are much better prep and indication of where you stand. Most people get within 2 points of their average

use examkrackers and buy every AAMC practice test
