Hi There,
I am a Canadian student looking to retake an MCAT score of 511 (130-CP/123-CARS/129-BBC/129-PS). I took this exam in August of 2016 after three months of studying full-time. I need to improve my CARS score and overall MCAT in case I am unable to get in this year (currently awaiting one interview result next week).
I majored in biology and graduated in June of 2016. For the past year, I have been completing a course-based masters of Public Health and will finish in August of 2017. As part of the masters, I have to complete a three month placement starting next week (May 8th-July 28th) working 40 ish hours a week.
How do you suggest I prepare for a retake? Do I have enough time to do everything and take the MCAT at the beginning of August. I will mainly try and concentrate on CARS, and brush up on the science and psych sections. What resources should I use?
For my August 2016 take, I went through all of the Princeton Review set books (2015 MCAT), the old MCAT BR books with every practice problem completed and reviewed. I also did the NextStep Strategy Practice questions and most of Khan Academy. I also did 11 practice exams, (5 Next Step, 4 EK and both AAMC exams). I did all the provided AAMC material as well. Is it wise to reuse resources? Should I go with a different set (EK prep books)? I have exhausted most CARS material too (EK, TPRH, AAMC etc). Any suggestions would be very helpful! Is it enough to study 3-4 hours on weekdays and go hard on the weekends?
Thanks!
