I'm trying to plan ahead on when to take the MCAT. I'm not going to finish Physics II until second-semester junior year, class ending in mid-May. From the forum, the best advice I'm getting is to take the MCAT mid-May, and not submit anything until mid-June when it comes out.

How do I decide if I'm a good person to submit to a throwaway school (at the fear of being labeled a reapplicant), or if should I just leave it? If I chose to completely wait until my score is released, could I still send in my transcripts (because it takes so long), or would that make me a reapplicant?

My school's committee letter process starts the fall before I would apply. If it's not good and I chose to wait, I'm not sure if I could 'save it' until the next year. Does anyone have any thoughts on this, or is it a question for my advisor alone?

OP - answer the following questions
1. What year of college are you starting this fall?
2. What is your sGPA and cGPA so far (approximate if need be)
3. Are you taking a gap year?

Until you answer those questions its very difficult to give you solid feedback. Assuming you're starting your junior year, yes, the wisdom is to take your MCAT that spring (May to June) to apply by July, interview your senior year, and go from graduation in May to medical school that August. Very few people do that; its common to take at least 1 to 2 gap years.

How about the other prereq classes? Tbh, physics 1 or 2 is really not heavily on the MCAT anymore. You'll be fine using any MCAT book to teach yourself physics 2. The bigger pre-req is biochemistry - have you taken that yet? That's all over the MCAT, I would strongly suggest you take biochemistry before you take the MCAT.
