Hi. I am just wondering if any of you have received interviews after your score decreased?
I am pretty sure this forum dooes not represent the majority of applicants, so I expect the responses to be very mixed.

My score was never that high (above average), and I went down a few points (this seemed impossible, actually, but it happened.)
I have amazing ECs (I have been working in the health care field since I was 18), my GPA is 3.6, volunteered for a year at a health clinic doing research and shadowing, and I am still currently working in a highly responsible health care position. Additionally, I have 3 recs from my professors, one from a doctor and one from my current employer.

All that alone makes me super confident, but my MCAT score is awful.
Yet, I have still been given interviews at great schools I am excited about.

Anyone else?

Hate to sound nosy... but it'll help if you tell us the actual score to get an honest answer.

As for the places that you've already interviewed at... unless they bring it up for you to address (rarely happens at osteopathic interviews... but they could ask how you deal with standardized tests and how you plan to change your approach for boards), usually its not that big of a deal. MCAT's and gpa are usually used to screen students for interviews. Your performance AT the interview will make or break you at that point.

i think the exact number would help too but i know someone who dropped by 1 point from 25-->24 after retaking it and she still got into med school

i hope that helps.

I got in with a score decrease but they didn't ask me about my retake score. They invited me to an interview and accepted me having only my first score. Just apply you never know. good luck:luck:
