MCAT score question

Since today is MCAT day, I have a question for all you premeds. I know that balanced scores are preferred by schools, but would a score of 10B 13V 10P be preferable to a 11 11 11 (both with high writing scores)? My friend has such score (10, 13, 10) and is convinced it's not as good as a balanced score, which he repeatedly earned on practice tests. I think the high verbal one is better. I hope to settle the argument here. Thanks.

from what i hear, the verbal score has the highest correlation with grades in med school; hence, having the high verbal is probably pretty damned good; having straight 11s is good too, but there's less of a difference between a 10 and 11....

I imagine two identical appliacnts only differing in scores as you psoted the 11's would be prefered, but it is not much of a difference. I think i would rather have a 10v 13bs 10ps than an
11V 11bs 10ps. Espeicaly if the b's or c's i made were in bio.
And you can forget about the writing score meaning anything. It is prety fair to say that is as much a handwriting test as it is a writing skills test. I know plentty of good writers who pracitced for the MCAT but had bad handwriting and they got M's and N's.
But it was ultimatly irrelevant.

This might help I know a girl w/29 (10v,9p,10b) who got into med school and a guy w/30 (7v,11,p,12b) who didn't. Both had a 3.5 gpa same major from ucla.

Man that sucks to think if I had good handwriting my writting score would have been higher... Oh well at least the med schools don't seem to give a big hoopla about it...

That's me all the way. I got R's and S's on practice test not even trying, but my hand writing is ugly (however, it is legible). I got an "M" after writing some OK essays. I just sent $50 on Thursday to have it rescored. Probably a waste of $$............
