Hey guys....so I get my scores in five days and I am freaking out to say the least. I took th 6/30 exam. I feel absolutely awful about the test. I took three kaplan tests and got a 499, a 502, and a 503. (They were relatively early). I hit the books hard and did content review up the wazoo. I took both AAMC fl tests and got a 504 on fl 1 and a 507 on fl2. I felt like fl2 wasn't too bad but fl1 was okay. Made a 123 on cars and still got a 504.

I have heard of people getting pleasantly surprised by the scores despite feeling absolutely defeated by the test. My C/P section was harder than anything I have ever seen. CARS went okay (better than aamc fl1) and Bio and Psych weren't too bad. Pressed for time a little. Can someone please tell me that its not going to be as bad as I think. My goal is a 507 to 508 and Ive heard people scoring higher than their practice scores. Just hope this is the case.

Also my score release date, also took on 6/30. Doing absolutely everything I can to keep my mind off it. All we can do is wait at this point. I suggest getting some drinks today, not much else you can do

How did you feel about it? Was C/P as ridiculous for you as it was for me? lol just a worry wart. I have always had a history of doing better than I thought on tests but this just doesn't feel the same. No partial credit no nothing

this was how I felt as posted on the June 29th & June 30th Reddit thread, please read if it gives you some peace of mind but take everything with a grain of salt. Everyone tests differently and is stronger in other topics:

Voided my May 13th exam because I knew I wasn't ready.... this exam seemed more fair overall. But that doesn't mean too much in the world of MCAT madness....

C/P: really chem/organic chem heavy... expected more Physics (had been studying it hardcore for the last month), but ultimately there was barely any. Highly conceptual imo, many calculations could be done without any math. Some topics kinda jumped out of the blue for me, but I knew there was bound to be some. Felt like a fair C/P Section to me.

CARS: good lordt these passages were long and DRY. I usually find some CARS passages where I genuinely enjoyed reading them... but every single one of the passages just dragged like hell for me. Kinda messed up my timing on this one and had to guess. I figured that that Victorian Puritan passage was the killer so I left it until the end, seems like I made a wise choice. Otherwise the questions themselves weren't very much harder, just longer. Did anyone else feel like some of the questions were like CARS passages in themselves tho??? The answers and questions were just so unnecessarily extended.

B/B: usually one of my higher scores. This was 100% the reason why I voided my score on the May 13th exam. What they gave us was absolutely unbelievable then. But today the MCAT gods decided that B/B would be the easiest section, and so it was. Tested basic concepts without being overly experimental with 83827394737 pathways that intersect and co-regulate each other. The May 13th exam made the B/B Section Banks look like childs play so when I hit this section I was pretty excited. Only problem was that I played myself cause I was seriously speeding through this section and decided to slow myself down A LOT. Kinda ran out of time for the last passage which I was super frustrated about cause it's seriously... so.... easy (hello osteocytes). Couple of discreets here where I was lost, but it was expected.

P/S: they really ****ed me up here. I was very aware of their change to CARS 2.0 based on the exam on May 13th, but this was a whole other monster. I felt like every question was down to a 50/50 and I could very reasonably argue either way. A lot of what it came down to was just simply guessing.... Normally finish with 20-30+ minutes left in this section and then just sit there and let the existential crisis take over my body. But I was literally working down to the last second on this section today. PS **** metacognition.

Overall i'm very 50/50 about this exam. It could lean either way for me. I need some whiskey.

For every "score is pretty much what i expected" post, there's a "OMG score breakdown literally the opposite of what I thougt!!!" But I'm also freaking out haha.

Easily the longest month of my life. Who knew waiting for your MCAT score would be so much worse than preparing for it?

OP it is normal to feel defeated post MCAT. I kept going through like three really dumb C/P problems I think I got wrong that I shouldn't have. But the nature of these things is you usually remember the questions that gave you issues rather than the ones you felt good about.

Either way we all just need to wait. Idk about all of you but I am going to do whatever it takes to get into medical school someday and if that means a retake so be it. Just be prepared for whatever!

Yep. In it to win it. No one is going to tell me I can't be a physician
Right, nobody can tell you that you can't be a physician! Yeah! Well the medical licensure board, they can. Of course them. But other than that nobody can tell you. Oh except the medical school admission committee. That goes without saying. But apart from that nobody! Of course then residency program directors. Naturally they can, I mean that was implicit. Nobody else... well financial aid officers, they might make it difficult. But overall nobody can tell you that you can't be a physician, with the exception of all the people who can.

i need help from anyone
My exam is on the 3rd of august and it really hasn't been going well for my practice. i struggle a lot with time, end up guessing in all section and my scores in NS fl and aamc fl are not impressive at all. what can i do at thing point. i really need anyone's help.

Well if you're really struggling and not even close on AAMC FLs to what score you want to get then you should cancel or void your exam on the 3rd. But I'd need a lot more info on what's going on with your study plan to let you know how I'd handle it.

Well start by rescheduling your exam.

I've gone over the content and also doing practice problems. the problem is i haven't seem to get hang of the pattern even though i go through the problems i failed, each new practice passage comes with a different challenge most of which i don't know how to tackle especially interpreting datas from bio and chem sections. car is worse. ive been getting below 125 in all sections and that is not good.

i think its too late for that

If I were you I would take it and void the exam unless you somehow feel great about your performance when you get to the void screen at the end. You're getting sub 125 on AAMC FLs? That's troubling a week out. You absolutely should not score this test. Take it and score it when you are ready.

I agree with what others have said. Void if you don't feel confident and reschedule when you're ready

Lol I'm sorry you have a negative attitude and a ****ty mood. But, from where I stand I want to help people and make other pre meds feel like they can accomplish their goals. If you want to be negative then maybe you should find another place to post your comments

Nothing negative, just adding a little perspective in a humorous way. Take it easy.
