Is it true that you can't submit your prelim. AACOMAS application until you receive your MCAT scores?

You can't just put down that you took them in April 2002. (I designated 600 on the day of the test...but do I still have to wait until June 18th to submit my scores)?

Oh yes...what if i hate my April scores and decide to take it again in August. Do I have to wait until I get my aug. scores to officially apply?

I'm so confused.

Jennie

You can submit your AACOMAS application before your MCAT scores are released. However, most schools will not consider your file "complete" until they receive the official scores. That won't be a problem if you took the MCAT this April, but if you submit scores from August, it can delay the processing of your application a bit. Good luck.

Definitely submit your app ASAP. I had my AACOMAS completed and submitted, with all of my transcripts but minus the MCAT, in early June. The scores came in a couple of weeks later and it was nice to have it all done.

Hey

I am in the same situation...Took the April MCAT...I've heard that if you check that you are taking the MCAT again, some schools will hold your application until the August scores are in...My application is finished and I'm just waiting for some input on my personal statement..Otherwise I'm ready to submit!

Hey DoctorBee,

I"m just going to submit my application. If i need to take it again in August I will, however I think my April MCAT scores will suffice. 🙂

I'm doing the same thing - I took the mcats this April and will submit everything without the scores. Right now it's a balancing act between finals and the application!

I'm finishing up my senior year (Last day of classes was yesterday! )here in the capital region of NY. I'm originally from Maine, and I'd like to go to UNE. I've been following the DO thread for a while - JennieLeigh, I have had a lot of the same questions as you!

Hey are ya'll that are applying to both DO and MD schools using the same personal statement? I was thinking about using the same thing, and waiting until the secondary applications to explain why osteopathic medicine. I've heard there's plenty of room on secondaries for this.
