MCAT scores!!!

Is that really how it works? cus i heard someone say that the curve is set before the exam. If the grading really depends on how everyone else did then way to be an objective test!!!

EDIT: After some more thorough investigations it would appear that the exams are curved not using the present set of examinees for the exam, but rather how old examinees performed on those question sets as an earlier poster mentioned. I find it hard to believe that the exam is curved arbitrarily (with the creators deciding what is harder, or even using some special testing group, since this would be kinda biased).

As for the OP I completely agree. It is ignorant to just say I am getting a high 30 w/o taking a practice exam. In your mind as you are practicing believe that you should be getting all of the sciences right since you it's a matter of knowing the material. Verbal is a little shakier, but imagine if you get the science 30 and even a 7 on verbal that would be a great score. However, with all that said this can't be taken as a given. You don't roll out of bed and just get the score you want (the same can't be said for the SAT). It takes a lot of hard work and you have to be willing to invest that kind of time and energy. For me that was 3 months the first time and about 2.5 for my second try.
