I appreciate your time taken to write this (exhausting yet comprehensive) plan. How many hours a day/week do you suggest for this? I have my own MCAT study schedule, and I like seeing everyone else's plans and time devotion.
I am thinking between 6-8 hours per day. I don't have a job right now or school so I can afford to spend more time studying. I know this isn't practical for most people. I just did a diagnostic and got 121 on three sections. I will for sure need to brush up on basic knowledge.

This is an updated version of the schedule. It includes a "reading forward" approach, so that you read the chapter multiple times getting more exposure. My goal is to gain exposure to each topic 5 times. I also added specific verbal reading suggestions each day. I added more practice exams from a larger scope. The schedule is intense, there's no doubt; you can always take things out if you don't have time to do everything I suggest. The schedule is uploaded below. Let me know if you have questions.

You might want to make your own thread for discussing your study schedule. 🙂

You might want to make your own thread for discussing your study schedule. 🙂

I'd like to make a thread for discussing this schedule. I had it posted in a bad location, but it is a 120-day study schedule. It's a modification of a pre-existing one. I actually think the one it was modeled after was the first one at SDN. It's design encompasses feedback from many sources.

The schedule you posted looks great except for one problem. When are your new books coming out? To get ready for the January MCAT, I need to start your schedule around September 20. Will all of your new books be out by then?

I have older books which I just have to say were incredible the last time I studied for this exam. I did great (far beyond my expectations) and I have to give credit to your problems and explanations. The schedule you posted won't fit with the old books because it looks like they have a different number of chapters now. What is different between my books and the new ones?

Hey I started this thread for my specific study plan. Do you mind creating a new thread for yours? Thanks.

I think your schedule is too long; should shorten it to 4 months no longer. 6 months for review and prep = burn out, FUD, and disinterest not to mention lack of motivation, etc.

Did you ever take the test in June 2014? How'd you do?

If you did, or did not, a lot of the content is still the same, just organized differently. The schedule outlined above, to me, is not good for most people. YMMV, of course.

I took the old MCAT missed my mark by 5 points. I took my pre reqs five years ago so I don't remember anything! I have forgotten pretty much everything from when I studied before. The review weeks are what makes the schedule long. However, I feel they are necessary for me. I can't read something once and boom magically get it. I have to see things over and over and over again. I think doing questions everyday might burn me out, but the key to success is practice questions and exams (I left that out first time around). I'll find out soon if its too much. I don't have anything else going on, so I think I would feel guilty if I weren't studying.

I understand @jballantine - I've been at this since August 2014 (more or less consistently but probably more the latter than the former 😉 ) .... I just know for me, condensing the time frame got me moving and doing rather than thinking about moving and doing.

With a real date and a real time frame, studying became a whole lot more focused. Good luck to you!! I hope you nail the beast 🙂

This is a good schedule. The 6 month plan is not for everybody, but if you have the time, go for it.

Thanks. I agree. Right now I am creating another schedule tying in SN2's basic outline with additional supplements so that you see more questions/passages during content review.

Thank you so much for posting this. I was wondering when you started doing passages, did you time yourself? If so, how much time did you give to each passage?

I have put together a 6 month study schedule to prepare for the MCAT in April or January of 2016.

Thank you so much for posting this. I was wondering when you started doing passages, did you time yourself? If so, how much time did you give to each passage?

I started passages right away, first week. I didn't time myself for the first few weeks on TBR. But I did time myself on KA, or question bank passages. I gave myself about 7 mins/passage (that could be a little off). But I waited until I got above 80% of the questions in the passages correct before timing. I wanted to get content and strategy down first.
