Hello all,

I plan on writing the MCAT on the 12th of September. I started studying since the beginning of this month and originally planned to get through content review (EK bio/ochem and BR physics/g-chem) by today. That unfortunately did not go as planned. As of now I read over EK bio and still have to go over BR acid/bases, electrochemistry, optics, electricity and magnetism. I have not done any o-chem review despite it being my weakest subject in college.

With about one month until my test date, would it seem wise to forget about finishing my content review and focus primarily on practice problems, passages, and taking full lengths? I'm assuming that I can learn the content that I don't know in this manner. Any input on this?
I have access to all the TPR online content, have the 1001 series, and BR books.

Thanks

One thing that I kind of regret during my studying was wasting so much time the first three weeks doing content review

Content review is worthless, just do practice problems

Learn as you go

I disagree that content review is worthless. Spending all of your prep doing nothing but content review is worthless, but a little content review can go a long way.

You need to build up your foundation a bit before doing problems. How can you learn from doing practice problems if you don't even understand the reasoning behind the answers and explanations?

OP, would it be possible to postpone?

If you are hellbent on taking the MCAT on your original test date, doing practice problems might be most beneficial.

I've done most of the content review for Gchem and Physics and all for biology. I just feel that I forgot a good amount of it as I moved on through my content review. The areas that I did not go over are my weaker areas. Not sure if it's more beneficial to do practice problems and then go back and review what I don't have a grasp on or to review it first. I took my first FL (TPR1) last weekend with PS:7 VR:7 BS:9 (total=23). It's a pretty low score and the test was pretty difficult but I'm not sure how indicative a TPR FL is.

I personally disagree with that method. I saw my best gains in Physical Sciences and Biological Sciences as soon as i finished content review
