So I plan on applying in 2014 to start 2015.
I still have orgo and physics as well as some other upper bio to take.
Is it to soon to start studying for the MCAT? I realize there will be concepts I won't have a clue about. But, I was thinking about working my way through each brand of study books between now and Spring 14 when I take the MCAT along with the commercial prep course.
Would it be pointless to do this?

It strikes me as overkill. Too early in the process and you will be cycling through and re-learning material. I would fear you will burn out too. A few months of dedicated studying AFTER a solid foundation in the material explained in class is sufficient for the MCAT.

I agree. You are too early by almost 1.5 years.

I think your studying for the MCAT now should consist of focusing on learning and mastering your orgo, physics, and bio coursework as a foundation for the when you're closer to taking the MCAT.

When you study for course exams try to build the foundation and not just focus on getting good grades on the test. Make sure you understand that material inside and out, not just memorize. That's probably the best prep you can do at this point. Spread out your review too long and you run the risk of forgetting things before you get to the MCAT.
