I was curious what advice people could offer for studying for the MCAT.

I am a sophomore who will finish the pre-med requirements this year and am planning on taking it in August. I want to do pretty well (32 and above hopefully) and I was curious what steps and how long people took to study for their MCAT.

I was planning on devoting as much time as possible during the summer towards the MCAT and to take an MCAT course.
In studying for the MCAT, I didn't see what else could be done other than reading the Biology book and reviewing gen chem/physics/organic chemistry as necessary, but mainly reading the biology book through (at least the parts i really needed to review). I was also hoping to take a kaplan course of some sort.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Keep in mind that I'm shooting fora 32 or above. Would one summer's studying be time enough to make such a score?

Thanks

there is an MCAT section that has all the info ur lookin for.

Well, my main question now is this: do you guys feel as if a summer (May 13th-ish or so) onwards to the MCAT (August 20th or so) would be ample time to get ready for the MCAT?
Notice my use of the word "ample"

if you're using words like ample i wouldnt even worry about the verbal section - that's already a 15 in the bag

If you were soley studying mcat alone with no summer school, I think 3 months is more than sufficient especially if you have a good science background.

im doing the same, without the course though. im just buying all the kaplan books, and all the practice tests i can get my hands on. Im doing research all this summer, and when im not in the lab, i'll be in the library reviewing.

more than enough, especially if you understood the material well the first time around

Yes, summer is ample time

I just took it after my soph year and studied my butt off during the summer and was pleased with my score.

It is definately do-able.
