Just got my score back.worse than I thought,but I think I will still send them .is it possible to change the expected date of mcat to a retake(already signed up for sep 1st) and still send them the score I got today?

Yes, it's on the test scores section. Just click the box and type the date you are taking it.

So If I do this..then if the schools like my score and they can proceed with interview and such..and if they don't ,there s a chance that they are gonna wait for my retake?

Pretty sure they will wait for the retake if it shows up on AMCAS. I'm 82% sure.

I always thought that was the case, but one school that I just applied to said specifically: "If you indicated that you were taking a future MCAT exam, your file will be held until the scores are received."

Edit: blizzah beat me to it. Also, the school was University of Rochester if you're interested.

4.0 with a 30R? You should totally be applying within Canada. Top Canadian schools don't care much about MCAT scores (as long as you make their min cut-offs). With your GPA, you might want to think about shooting for U of Toronto, UBC, Queen's, etc. They're at higher standing than schools such as Wayne State and GWU, not to mention a great deal cheaper.

4.0 with a 30R? You should totally be applying within Canada. Top Canadian schools don't care much about MCAT scores (as long as you make their min cut-offs). With your GPA, you should be shooting at U of Toronto, UBC, or other amazing schools instead of Wayne State, GWU, etc.

I will apply to Canadian ones as well.but my score s not that balenced . 8ps,10vr and 12 bs.

The sept 1 MCAT will hurt since you will only get scores back in mid october but it is better than applying with an 8 PS. You would have a decent chance applying with the 30R but it may be worthwhile to retake just so that Canadian schools become a possibility as well. Also, if you feel prepared sooner check in with test centers to see if they have cancelations for early August tests. The good news is the PS section is the easiest and quickest section to improve on (at least in my opinion).

Send the score and inform them of the re-take. Most schools will give you an interview with that 30 and 4.0.

They will consider your second score at the adcom meeting when deciding to admit you.

I would apply now. A Sept MCAT means an October score, and that is late. Its not like a 30 is really bad, although its not ideal.

It's not grade inflation... an 80 at UWO is a 4.0 on the AMCAS scale.

While an 80 on the OMSAS scale is a 3.7.

It's not exactly UTSG, but I know this from a friend of mine that had a 3.75 OMSAS GPA and a 4.0 AMCAS GPA and got a full ride scholarship to Duke.

So happy my parents moved down here.

sorry for bugging you, i just want to make sure I am doing it right. So I have just changed the MCAT date to sep 1st on my primary and recertified and resubmitted it. Now all I have to do is to send the score I got today to all the schools?

Are you for real? The entering average for first year science is an 87.

My good friend went there and his class averages were high 60s, low 70s. Sooooo yeah.

that s not true, some of the class averages are in the 60's. and also, can you just stop comparing schools. I know quite a few people at U of T complaining about the grading curve , but please live with what you chose.
