Hi guys, I have recently decided to take the DAT, but I have tons of MCAT material, flashcards, kaplan class books, examkrakers, and a few other books.

Can I read the Ochem, Chem, and Bio review books from kaplan to prepare for the DAT science section? I was thinking of using the review books along with my school text books to study all that stuff and finally buy one all-in-one review book for the DAT that reviews the sciences, PAT, math, and English sections as a final review then take the test, maybe even buy separate books for studying the PAT portion and math. Any advise from you guys? Should I be really concerned with the math section? is there an actual way of improving on the PAT with practice? Do you guys recommend any particular review books? some web sites say their kaplan review book (one book reviewing all the topics) is their best seller, but forgive me if I dont trust them, anyway, thanks for your response.

The two main books people will talk about are the kaplan book and dat destroyer. Topscore and DAT Achiever are also useful as they are software that allows you to take practice tests. If you take the time to search the forum, you can find a lot of this information already.

I would say MCAT books are fine for reviewing the sciences, just be sure to practice on tests that are specific to the DAT (topscore, achiever, etc.).

And yes, I wouldn't touch the Kaplan book with a ten-foot pole. But that's just my opinion, I prefer EK.

Thanks guys, I also saw a lot of info by searching for DAT review books on Amazon, the peoples opinions tells a lot, like that the PAT section of the Barrons DAT review is useful and that the DAT kaplan has certain good points, use GRE books for the math section, and they say to use college text books along with mcat preps for the sciences, and at the end, to practice with TopScore, since I have all my college texts and I have soooo much stuff from my kaplan mcat class and examkracker stuff my friends gave me, all I really need to buy is the Kaplan and Barrons review books and the TopScore software, maybe even the Schaum's Outline of Biology book, what do you guys think?

one warning everyone gave was about the bio section, everyone said that most of what they studied was not on the actual test, even from the bio section in kaplan review, they said the real test focused a lot on ecology, genetics, invertebrate biology and evolution.
