Greetings to all...
I'm signed up for the test in three weeks - it says they will start registering us at 8am. When can I expect to be done? (we're having a speaker/dinner on campus that night (6pm) and I don't know if I should rsvp as being able to go!)
I've been reading these forums for a while and haven't come across this ? yet.
thanks!

I don't know if our proctors were slow or what, but i remember getting out about 6:45 pm or so. After you finish the last section (BIO), you have to fill out a demographic survey. Then the proctors have to collect the surveys, and that takes forever. You'll find during the MCAT that the distribution and collection of the forms for each section takes quite a while. That's why you'll get out so late.

I was done by 4:30 both times I wrote. But there were only about 10 people at my sitting the second time, and all of five the first time.

It pretty much depends.

I was out around 6:30. Don't expect to be out earlier becuase the MCAT has sooooooo much security stuff that it is rediculous. And if you are going to a big test site -- mine probably had 100 people, it will take a long time because they have to check everyone in the morning and after lunch one by one.
Oh, and some unsolicited advice -- the day is really long, so bring lots of food. I brought 4 power bars in addition to lunch and was happy for every one of them.

Yeah it totally depends how many people show up for the test. The longest part will be when they leaf through everyone's test to make sure no pages were removed from anyone's booklet. I didn't get out until 7pm when I took it, but that was because there were about 150 people taking it at the time.

5pm, with about 20 people in my testing center and with 2 people voiding their tests. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" />

You'll get out between 4pm and 6:30pm. It all depends on how many people will be at the testing center, how efficient the proctors are, how punctual they are, etc., etc. One of the times that I took the MCAT, things didn't get under way until very late, because something was holding up the proctors.

If the speaker is not someone you definitely must go see, then my advice to you is to not worry about that and just focus on the MCAT with the attitude that you have all the time in the world to stay there as long as need be.
