Anyone with decent gpa's (3.5ish) and mcats 27 or 28 get any interviews. If so did, which schools were they at (MD ones only plz) and is there anything special about your app like URM or years off

I got interviews at Wright State, and Meharry so far...Ohio resident....and one yr full time in a Path lab,and now finishing my MPH....

I think it would be helpful if you said the exact score and GPA too...Thanks

26 second time...if you take my top scores 28Q...but i dont think they do for mcat...3.565 3.8ish my last two years (messed up first year grades)

interview with GW

You should get a copy of the MSAR and read it. The average MCAT of medical school matriculants is 29, and GPA is 3.55. Assuming a normal distribution of MCAT scores, then half of all acceptees will have a 29 or lower, and half will have a 29 or higher. Despite what you read on SDN, a 28 really isnt that bad. The actual distribution is skewed to the right, but you can still count on an acceptance or two with average stats assuming you're not a complete tool and apply to a wide variety of schools (read: not just top 20).

27 and 3.8 and interview at VCU and MCG. Also two DO schools

28R and 3.7...6 interviews so far...

NYMC, Upstate, Downstate, Stonybrook, Albany, GW

I'm similar...29Q 3.7 7MD interviews 2DO interviews

26M, 3.97 GPA, non URM....4 interviews so far....accepted at VCU

3.9 and 29S, lots of interviews, and accepted to stony brook! Don't worry about it!

3.6 GPA from Emory, 28R and interviews at Univ of WA and Tulane. Have had 2 yrs off working in africa for 6 mos and then running a clinical lab here in the states. I think you'll be fine. high 20s is a fine score.
