Has anyone studied for the MCAT without taking physics 1 and 2 and Orgo lab. Those are the three classes I have left to take. I was thinking about studying for the MCAT this summer, but I would have to self study those classes. Thoughts?

If you're mathematically inclined I suppose you could try to self teach yourself Physics I and II. Personally, that would not work for me. I worked by butt off for A's in my Physics classes. If you do choose to self-study, get The Berkeley Review MCAT books for Physics. It is really good and will teach you the best. Ochem lab won't matter except maybe for lab techniques. You can self study those.

I think at least physics I was helpful to have a basis. With orgo, you have at least ochem I and II knowledge to bounce off of, but if you've never taken Physics before, this might be a little trickier to self study.

I agree with the posters above. You definitely don't need orgo lab for the MCAT (although there are some lab techniques that you would understand better if you take the lab) but physics is typically pretty hard if you haven't taken them in a classroom setting. Topics like optics, E&M, and circuits especially.

I can really only speak for myself but I'm far removed from the courses for the MCAT I basically have to relearn everything anyway. By the time I sat down to study physics were 1 year and 45 credits ago. Bear in mind I'm a fairly unique situation but I imagine I there are a lot of other people that feel the same.

You would have to self-study for it but that's not a bad thing. Orgo lab is really important on the MCAT but it's really not that important to take it because you just have to know the lab techniques, how they work, and what they're for not actually do them.
