McMaster vs UNH – Benign Hematology Fellowship

Hi everyone,

I have opportunity in Benign Hematology, with a particular interest in hemostasis, bleeding disorders, platelet disorders, and anemia.

I may have an opportunity to pursue fellowship training at either McMaster University or UNH, and I would really appreciate input from anyone familiar with either program, especially current or former fellows/Physician.

• Which program would you consider stronger overall for Benign Hematology?
• How would you compare the clinical exposure particularly in thrombosis, bleeding disorders, platelet disorders, and anemia?
• How strong are the thrombosis/hemostasis services and multidisciplinary exposure?
• Are there any disadvantages or limitations of either program that a I should know about?

I’m interested in hearing honest pros and cons from people who have actually trained in these programs.

If you had the choice between the two specifically for Benign Hematology with a focus on thrombosis/hemostasis and bleeding disorders, which would you choose and why?
