Hello everyone, I have a question about MCO and Idiana. How long do they take after your interview? If anyone has interviewed here and would like to share some feedback I would appreciate it. Thank you and good luck to all of you.

Hi. I don't know about MCO (didn't apply there). But I interviewed at IU in September, and just found out about 2 weeks ago (the nice big envelope). 🙂 As I recall, the IU admissions committee only meets once a month (on the 15th of each month I believe), and I think they conduct interviews until April. They are rolling admissions, but I think that even if its been a few months since an interview, it probably means that you are still being considered.

Good Luck!

I interviewed there in mid December and they said it takes something like 3-4 for the file to go under review. The assistant Dean of admissions explained it pretty well to the interview group on that day because the Dean was on vacation. I'm not sure if you had her talk to you and if she gave you any pertinent information.

But I called MCO up and they said my file would go under review Jan. 25, almost a month and a half after my interview. I think the Christmas/New Year thing slowed them down, but he said that they usually make decisions fairly quickly.

i interviewed at MCO on 10/11 and was accepted on 10/24. they get back to you really fast with an acceptance i believe. they were really nice. it was a great interivew experience and i loved the faculty. they even wrote me a personal letter and called. but unfortunately im not going to go there.
hope that helped. the interveiw was very laid back but they did ask me alot of weird policy/ethics questions. nothing too bad though. good luck!

to reiterate an earlier point, the IUSM admissions committee does meet once a month and letters are sent out on the 15th of each month. if you get the big letter, congrats. and don't sweat it, some people won't hear anything until june.

good luck
IUSM class of 2008

Here's the skinny on IUSM admissions. They interview you - then they score you on the interview and put you in this big pile of all the applicants that have been interviewed. They rank the applicant data using an algorithm that includes your GPA, MCAT score, and interview scores (they might add in other stuff too, I'm not sure). Then each month, they meet and go through the applications starting from the top. Therefore someone who interviewed in October may not hear from IU until April and someone who interviewed in February might hear back in March - it all depends on your total rank on that list. If they sit there all day and plow through the list, chances are decisions will be made - if they sit there and discuss each applicant, then yeah it takes time and if they don't finish the first month's applications they combine it with the next month and so on...

best of luck to you all..
