I have a question about the first essay question:They say briefly discuss any extenuating experiences that are pertinent to your application(poor grades,withdrawls,etc..)

I want to write about transferring my sophomore year back home because of a few incidents that happened my freshman year(death of family member, roomate stealing my stuff,etc..)But I didn't know if this was appropriate?...Also, I had a dip in grades sophomore and junior year because I was an Exercise Science major and had just 2 proff's traching my classes who were both nightmares. 😡 ...so I withdrew from one of those classes...and I changed majors to just Bio, and I did really well in those classes...How do I write about the bad proff's and why I changed majors?...

I'd be really careful about putting the blame on a professor, even if it really was his fault.

However, I do feel that you should be as candid as possible in your explanations for poor grades/course withdrawals/etc. For me, I had a lot of personal problems in my first 2yrs that severly effected my studies. I didn't talk too much about it in my PS, so I'm taking this opportunity to give them all the details.

I think the more details adcoms know about you, the more they're able to make a more informed decision about admitting you to medical school.

is the first essay optional ...i dont think i really have anything that I need to put there
