Hi, I am looking into going to MCPHS - Worcester accelerated Doctor of Pharmacy. I have been reading some horror stories that many people fail out, and not for a lack of trying. I have heard that some classes are almost impossible to pass, etc. I have pre-pharm 3.86 and math&science 3.87, and worked full time during my undergrade. I feel that I am up to the challenge, but I am getting the feeling that it may be more than just a hard program. Any students out there have any advice? I would be giving up alot to attend this school, my retirement fund, my current career, not to mention all that tuition money. Failure is NOT an option.

I have a friend who is in the 0-6 program there. She says that the graduation rate for the program is around 50 something percent, but she says it's certainly doable because of the nature of the subject. However, the professors there teach horribly and they do NOT have office hours. I think that's the main reason people fail out. But, if you can rely on external resources like textbooks, internet, encyclopedia, etc... to aid in your study, I don't think there will be much problem. If you think that failure is not an option for you, I would suggest you looking into other schools.

I have another friend who went to other pharmacy school and they also fail out students like crazy. He has a GPA 3.91 and worked full-time in undergrad. What I'm trying to say is that your undergrad GPA has nothing to do with how well you will do in the program because everyone is at the same level as you are. Hope this helps and good luck 🙂

cy1986112's post is regarding the Boston campus of MCPHS. The Worcester program (which the original poster inquired about) is very different. It's like comparing apples to oranges...or vanco to metronidazole...so disregard comments about the Boston campus if you are interested in Worcester.

Just to make a correction, professors here at the Boston campus DO have office hours.

Well, I apologize if I made any confusion. This is what I heard from my friend a while ago. I'm not actually enrolled at this school, so I'm making statements based on what I heard
