I started, but after reading the posts on xml2's link, I'm not sure I want to even finish the application! I think I'm gonna go take a tour and see things for myself. I'm scared now :scared:

Read that post a while back and scared me away also...but I'm already applying to so many schools anyway.

your safety school or you live so close to it that you dont have to rent, ok?

Yea, I'd be a safety school. Plus I am interested in the 3yr program. From what I've read on their website, they don't really like prereqs from a Community College🙁 . So that's just another reason I most likely won't bother applying there.

Yikes. Looks like I'm not gonna apply to boston for sure. Hey xml2, do you know if worchester is like this too? Hopefully it's a nicer campus with a more mature atmosphere since theyre mostly transfer students. 😳

Starting first year at Worcester now. I don't have a clue yet why school has a bad reputation yet. I know it is not UCSF or UCSD, but I think it is not too bad. I have been accepted to other schools as well but chose this one because it is a 3 year program. I will let you guys know later on how things are.

well worchester sux. at least boston has a nightlife.

i agree it fosters a more mature atomsphere as it accepts mostly transfer students, which i would prefer because i'm a transfer student.

i dont know much about worchester school, but i know they or the one in new hamsphire uses satelitte dish to lecture students. i believe you also have to take those crappy orientation ORAL and English writing exams. You pay for orientation ($100) to take these two exams...hahaha. I guess having the English prereqs are not sufficient.

It is very expensive school. The tuition of private pharmacy schools are all about the same so MCPHS is not the only pricey place to study. I don't like the way they charge us on some stuff, but they gave us $3k of a school grant, which most schools don't provide. Thus, I think the oreintation fee and other extra fees are not too bad. Regarding the oral and writing exams, they were easy, and I believe the purpose is to differentiate ESL student to assist their English skill.

you can only apply to one of them (boston or worchester) ??

Yes, you can only apply to one of them. Boston used to accept a lot of transfer students but they now accept very small number of transfer students like 10~20 depending on availability. Last year, they had only 12 spots but more than 1000 people applied, so it is very competitive to get in now.

small number?

Try at least 50 students for 3rd year. I could not have been one of the 12 transfer people! My stats are not that competitive! I saw and knew more than 12 transfer heads.

Then they also accept some students for 2nd year. But what is stupid is that some students actually have a SCIENCE degree and they have to retake some courses like organic chem again. Waste of money and time!

which campus is most appropriate for a student with out a degree but has all prereqs done at the time of applying?
