Yes, I would. Here is why- it is already an established school for other science programs (pharm, physician ass..etc) and all schools have to start somewhere. If you do not get into any other schools then what would you do? I actually have an interview there (I have other offers as well) and I am planning on going and checking it out. It is always a risk, but at the end of the day if you get to be an optometrist then that is what matters. However, I would only go there if I was denied from Pacific and NOVA (my other offers basically).

I think they are charging $35,100K per year.

I think that is a huge rip-off...that's 5K over most other schools including new schools.

Agree, I'd only go there if I was rich and had crappy grades.

What about IAUPR?

They charge 25k a year...that's cheap compared to other schools that charge out of state tuition or private schools.

You get what you pay for...60% pass rate on national boards exams. If you don't pass you are forced to practice in Puerto Rico where you can't Rx anything except glasses/contacts or basically do anything medical.

Can you tell me where you found this number ?

IAUPR website, you have to dig though...and that is 60% pass rate for those that ATTEMPTED the boards...not the total number in the class which would then make it even lower.

If you don't get into an established school, you might want to get a masters or retake some classes. A new school doesn't have a track record and the curriculum will vary. You need a good foundation in order to pass your boards. You only get three attempts to pass NBEO!
