not that any of you want to wait another week, but...

i will be there for an interview next monday. i will be sure to ask what their acceptance procedures are. the one encouraging sign for me is that people seem to be quite interested in this school. makes me look forward to my trip...

I think that MCV is a great school (even better because I am in-state). When you go there be prepared to spend a lot of time in the little applicant lounge. You have to wait for your interview and lunch. Go out and walk around the hospital (watch out for the construction). The things that most impressed were the hospital (incredible clinical experiences) and the classrooms. The second year room is the nicest I have seen, and they are renovating a very historic building (Egyptian) to have the first years move in for next year I believe. The disappointment for me was the library (kind of old). Here at Duke the med library is a little newer and well-endowed. Overall, a great place IMHO, and my top choice of schools I have been accepted to. Unless Northwestern or UVA come callin' I will be at MCV in a heartbeat.

Alright kids: I called the admissions office today. The nice lady said that they will be entering notification stuff in the computer today and that it should be available for us to see after 5pm tonight. If it doesn't show up tonight, it should be there tomorrow morning.

Anyway, good luck everyone. And I wanna say thanks; you guys have made this whole process a lot easier (though I am still frazzled-only an acceptance will cure that!).
 
I will agree. I also talked to my friend at MCV today. She said the results are in and they just finished downloading the data into the computer. If you are going to be accepted this batch you will know by tonight around 5:00. Good luck. I am routing for you all. :clap: :clap: :clap: :clap:
 
it's 4 pm here on the west. i havent heard anything. anyone had any luck yet?
 
Don't give up yet, guys. Maybe it's slow getting to you. Check tomorrow morning and call to see if it really went out today.
 
Hi folks,

I just wanted to let you guys who are waiting know that I got the update email at 7 pm. Just from what I remember about getting these automatic emails, they are sent at all times of day so if you don't get anything this evening, maybe you will later tonight or tomorrow morning!

I didn't hear anything...guess it's a go for round 3!! I feel like a champion boxer or something.
 
I haven't gotten anything either yet...but I am hoping to get something today...
 
i just called them to find out if all the emails had gone out. Joe W. said ALL the emails went out on Tue.

If you didn't hear anything last night, you won't be getting anything today. They all go out at the same time. Round 3 will be next month. 😛 😛
 
Is anyone here in the Certificate program in MCV and have heard of their acceptance/rejection or heard from them at all? I'm a certificate student @ MCV and I have not heard anything from them yet. This wait is killing me... 🙄
 
Elle, you should have been more clear letting us know you received an acceptance. I am sure we all want to give you are congrats.

you guys may not have to wait too long for the next round of acceptances. i was there yesterday, and the dean told us that the next batch would be sent out around the end of feb, with the final batch going out mid-march. she said that there are about 110 of the 180 spots filled so far.
 
has anybody been to mcv recently that can verify when the next round of acceptances is scheduled for?
 
I am going to call them tomorrow and and Shania when the next one's are going out. Here's to us all getting in this time 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀 😀

Not good news troops. They have ONLY ONE (not two as we all thought) more batch of acceptances that will go out mid to late March. This will be it folks. After that date people will be put on the "alternate" list, which I assume is also called the waitlist.

Sorry I bear no better news then that, but now we can stop wondering if it is going to be next week.

i had dr brokes. he was very cool!

so next round is coming up. i've kinda given up bec despite the great interview i had; i walked out of there thinking i was gonna get in for sure. hmmmm, what is going on? anyways, i think that something in my application didnt work for the adm com. waitlist here i come..... 😛
