Congrats to all of you who got interviews so far! Now the craziness can begin.

If any of you have questions about Mke, I'm your man.

how come some people that completed their applications in july and august have recieved invites, yet those that completed their applications in june have not heard anything yet?

are u in the same boat, biostats? if so when was your app completed?

Chicago is close.

Haha I just realized that when I was scheduling plane tickets and stuff. The interview day doesn't end until 5, so I'm probably going to stay with my parents in Chicago that night because it's too late to fly back. I figure it's gotta be better there than another 4 years of Gainesville's world of drunken undergrads. I mean, it's great when you're a drunken undergrad, but it's starting to get really old. A typical night at my apartment complex:
"Man, I don't think our screaming and insanely loud, crappy pop music is obnoxious enough for 3am. Whatever shall we do?"
"Oh, remember how we set off the fire alarm last week? And the week before? Let's go with that again. It's cool, 'cause they rarely shut it off in less than four hours."

There are still drunken med students, I don't hang out with them too much, but I think they've toned it down a little bit from that. I do know what you're talking about though. =)

why do no planes leave after 6 pm? that's really annoying

Ah, I remember the 3am fire alarm well...

So Milwaukee, if you may not already know, has recently been rated the drunkest city in America. (Madison isn't? Have you seen their Halloween??) Yes, you can go on brewery tours and spend all night on Water St., but the drunks are pretty easy to avoid.

I grew up in the same town that MCW is in, it's very residential and the parks are great. It's a few minutes from downtown, so you're really not missing out on the action. There's the standard theatres and restaurants and ball games, and of course the new art museum. We have ethnic and music festivals all summer long.

Basically, if you need designer clothes and four-star restaurants to feel alive, this place is not for you. But if you like music, eating, and playing outside, you might like it here. (And maybe one of your future classmates will invite you "up north"!)

no second email for me...i think my first one was missing the attachment and i never called back to ask about it...does anyone have that?

geh, this is one of my first choice schools. I finished my app in late July. Then I checked my status in June to realize I hadn't clicked the final button so it wasn't certified.

So I finished on 8/14/2006 instead of July 20th or so.

No one who finished in June has an interview yet?

When are the interviews?

A Cabela's store is soon to open nearby.

So, if you like:

huntin'
fishin'
campin'
shootin'
camo
elk meat
wild boar meat
laser shootin' arcade
traffic backups on major highways....

then you're all set. only cost them 52 million dollars plus tax......idermy.

I hadn't submitted my MCW secondary until probably almost 2 weeks later than that when I applied. When I hadn't heard from them around maybe later in september or early october, I personally talked to Istwan at a grad school fair and he said my application was probably "under review" due to the 8 I got on the PS section of the MCAT, and I should call or write him later...I waited a day or two and emailed him to remind him of me, and probably within a couple weeks I received an interview invitation for (I think) Dec. 2nd. I have a feeling this "making contact" may have been beneficial. My acceptance came aboot 2 weeks after that.

Not very helpful for timeframes, but don't worry, you aren't too late for an interview + acceptance.

splat, where the heck is the cabela's? in tosa?? that makes two of us with a pesky PS 8 😳

leahm, i didn't get it either, but it was about the applicant host program and something else. falco2525 told me what i missed.

acrobat, if you live in SE wisconsin, stop by the admissions office and ask (at least they can put your name to a face!). i'd even tell them it's one of my top choices. bummer about the "late" secondary; you still have time. only one round of invites has happened so far anyway.
